Weather

Weather observations and forecasts are crucial to SOPFEU’s work. Every day, the weather service collects and analyzes hourly data from the 159 automatic weather stations that are part of the Réseau météorologique coopératif du Québec (RMCQ). This information provides SOPFEU with an accurate picture of the conditions in forests. In addition, the data are used to calculate indices that serve to evaluate the fire danger for the whole province.

Objective: To anticipate zones where
the risk of fire is high.
