Prevention

At SOPFEU, education and awareness campaigns are among the tools used when it comes to prevention. And for good reason! Close to 500 fires are caused by human activity every year. In fact, statistics show roughly 70% of fires are caused by humans.

To address this situation, the team at information services works in collaboration with the media to inform the public about high-risk situations and to broadcast the fire danger. Also, as soon as the situation warrants it, SOPFEU will suggest applying preventive measures.

Objective: To continuously lower the average
number of human-caused fires.
