La Société de protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU) is responsible for the prevention, detection and suppression of forest fires in Quebec. For optimal results when carrying out its operations, SOPFEU requires effective strategies, trained human resources and specialized equipment.

Open fires in or near forested areas are no longer prohibited
Quebec, Monday May 28th, 3:00 pm – The Société de protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU) would like to inform you that the Minister of Natural Resources and Wildlife, Mr Claude Béchard, has lifted the order prohibiting open fires in forested areas for all of Quebec.This order had been in effect since Wednesday May 23rd. (in French)  »»
